My Story

Hello! I'm Becy!

I can't wait to meet you! I'd love to hear about you, your story and your plans for your day but before that, I thought I'd let you in on my little world!

I live with my family on The Isle of Skye! We moved here at the beginning of 2020 after many commutes. We truly feel that life is too short not to follow your dreams and I'm honestly so inspired by this landscape, it feels like adventure is always possible here!

I started Belle Art Photography 6 years ago when my daughter, Belle was just a baby. I was an artist, working in a restaurant and desperately seeking a way for my creativity to flow. I had studied fine art, working in photography and film and one day something just clicked. Elopements encompass everything I love to capture; the emotions, the moments, the landscapes, the light, adventure and so much more.

During these 6 years A LOT has happened! I gave birth to our second child, Elijah in 2019. We then got married, moved to Skye, pandemic, during which I was lucky enough to keep capturing beautiful elopements on Skye. Fast forward 2021, my busiest year! I captured 48 elopements mostly whilst pregnant, 1st November 2021, we welcomed our third baby at home, little Aria Skye!

This year I've been lucky enough to receive Best of the Best Wedding Photography award by Junebug Weddings AND Professional Photo Mag. And on top of that I have had my work published in The Times and the Sunday Post....what a whirlwind of a year!

Now, I capture elopements around the highlands and spend much of my time planning incredible elopement experiences through Elope With Belle - An all inclusive elopement package for couples on Skye which I started in 2019.

To say I'm grateful is an understatement. I love all of my couples and making art for you is a dream come true!

We were really lucky to have been able to book Becy to capture our elopement in September 2021. After starting to research the options open to us it was clear that Becy’s aesthetic and use of film medium (both medium format and super8) in addition to incredible medium format digital really appealed to us and is quite literally world-class.
We STILL don’t have a favourite picture- it changes every time we look through the photos (very often!) as we always spot new details. The photographs are magnificent and we have received so many comments on how timeless and romantic they are.
Becy was a pleasure to work with and although we didn’t opt for the all inclusive elopement package, we were incredibly well looked after in terms of support during our planning and her communication with Rona (our celebrant) to ensure a seamless day.

When it came to choosing a photographer for our wedding we knew we wanted someone special, who wasn’t like the rest. Upon recommendation from a friend we looked over Belle Art Photogprahy’s social media and came to the very quick conclusion that we had found who we wanted as our photographer. There is something about Becy’s work that really speaks to you. Her work has a warmth and emotion, and really captures a sense of adventure by incorporating nature into her shots. Following the very easy to fill in enquiry form on her website, Becy was back in touch and was thankfully free for our big day (and was even kind of enough to reschedule for us due to the pandemic). In addition to the photos on the day we also chose to do a pre wedding shoot. This was our chance to not only get some great shots that we later used as wedding invitations, but also gave myself and my partner a chance to relax and get used to a camera being pointed at us. Models we are not, but if you look at the results you’d think we might be! We found this experience really useful as it also meant we built a rapport with Becy that just made everything that much smoother on the big day. In addition to her photography Belle Art Photography also offers a video service on Super 8 film. We LOVED this. Becy edits these together beautifully and again captures emotion in a different way than other videographers out there, producing something unique and special to us. We looked like we were in a retro styled music video it was so cool! Included in the price of our package we also got some fine art prints of our photos and the actual roll of super 8 film our wedding was captured on. These were lovely and an extra something special as a memento from the day. All in all our experience with Belle Art Photography was the best. There is always that worry that people might not want to work with you when you consider yourself part of the LGBT+ community, but Becy celebrated us and couldn’t have been more lovely throughout the entire experience, and the photos and film are just perfect! We truly can not recommend her enough. We really hope you choose to have Belle Art capture your big day, you won’t regret it!

Becy was simply amazing. She was as much a part of our wedding as our family members were. The photos and video she took are just breath-taking and she has an incredible talent of capturing the personality of people through photos. We could never thank Becy enough for capturing our wedding day as spectacularly as she had.

These photos - oh my goodness me!!! We knew you would do an amazing job with the photograhy, but it is one thing to think it and another thing to actually see it! The entire album is just perfect, I can't stop looking through. I can't believe it's us in the photos! You have captured our day and the emotions so well - you can sense the joy and love in the photos, not just from us but from the guests too, which is exactly what we wanted. We have had such a happy time looking through them all, and I know they'll bring us happiness for years to come. You really are so talented and we're so glad you were able to be part of the day. Words can't express my love for these photos!

Thank you so much for everything; for obviously the stunning photos but also for being such a calming, lovely presence on the day. So many guests commented on how you great you are and they loved your style. We really did have the best day and it means so much to have such beautiful photos to show it. THANK YOU!!!

Dear Becy,

Words cannot describe how happy we are with these photos. Every photo took us back to that moment at our wedding.
Thank you so much for being our photographer, we couldn't have wished for a better photographer.

It was so nice to meet you and we hope to see you again in the future. Give Bella, Elijah and Arif a big kiss from us.
