I have poured my heart and soul into this honest, inspirational and actionable guide for you. For those of you who don’t know me very well, I’m Becy from Belle Art Photography. I started Belle Art Photography in January 2017 when my daughter Belle was just a tiny baby.
I had just quit my job in a restaurant on a bit of a whim with only one wedding booked (the couple had found me on Gumtree.) It was a rash decision but I felt so creatively suppressed and just not myself working there. I needed to be creative for my soul and so I just dived head first into the world of wedding photography. Later that month, January 2017, I went door to door in my housing estate handing flyers out for a £50 portrait session. Then 2018 I shot 35 weddings and was featured byJunebug Weddings, Love My Dress and Whimsical Wonderland Weddings just to name a few. In 2019 I had my second child Elijah, captured 37 weddings, travelled all over Europe in our self-renovated van, became a New York Rangefinder Rising Star and turned over £70K.
Now, I’m getting through this shit storm of a year with the help of gin…No, well yes, but actually this ‘free’ time has lit a creative fire inside of me. I’ve been channeling this into my love of writing and passion to help other creatives start, grow and excel in their businesses. I have recently starting a branding company with my sister and will continue to run both businesses. So with two kids and two businesses, I’ve had to find ways to manage my time, excel with marketing, remember to eat whilst still serving my clients. I wanted this anecdotal guide not only to inspire your photography practice but also equip you with actionable tips to grow your business so that you can come through 2020 with a business that is stronger than ever.
